3-Day Marrakech to Merzouga Dunes Tour with Camel Trek

Your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga dunes begins with a pickup from your accommodation or the nearest transport location to your riad in Marrakech at 7:00 am. From there, we’ll journey across the Tizi-n-Tichka Atlas pass, taking in far-reaching views of the mountains and traditional High Atlas Berber villages. Our next stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, where you’ll have lunch and explore the ancient Kasbah. After lunch, we’ll make a stop at a supermarket in Ouarzazate before continuing on to Tinghir via the Roses and Dades Valleys. We’ll spend the night at Hotel Saghro in Tinghir.

On the second day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga dunes, after breakfast, we’ll depart for Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll pass through Berber villages, Todra Gorges, an oasis, Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud, where you’ll begin to feel the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Upon arrival at our hotel in Merzouga, you’ll have a chance to relax before taking only the necessary luggage for the night in the desert and leaving the rest at the hotel. Then we’ll ride camels across the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, providing a great opportunity for photos of the sunset and sunrise. At the camp, we’ll leave the camels and walk to the highest sand dunes for sandboarding and to watch the sunset. We’ll spend the night in a Berber nomad tent camp with drum music in the middle of the Sahara.

On the final day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga dunes, we’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before riding camels back to Merzouga. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, we’ll begin our journey back to Marrakech, passing through Berber villages along the way. We’ll travel via Ouarzazate and take the same road back to Marrakech.
